2 x Medical Receptionist and Administrative Assistant positions in our Kids Clinic and Physiotherapy Clinic

• Salary Package: Grade 3, level 2 – base salary $66,571 p.a. (pro-rata for part-time) as per our Enterprise Agreement + 12% super + access to full salary packaging benefits with Maxxia to maximise your take home pay.

The Role

Macquarie University Health Clinics (MUH Clinics) is seeking experienced and motivated individuals to join our dynamic and fast-paced environments as a Medical Receptionist and Administrative Assistant, with job openings available in our MUH Kids Clinic and Physiotherapy Clinic.

These positions are ideally suited to professionals with at least 1–2 years’ experience in a similar medical administration role who can confidently “hit the ground running.” You will play a key role in supporting specialist clinicians and ensuring a seamless patient journey from first contact through to billing and follow-up.

You will work closely with a collaborative team to deliver a high-quality patient experience, enabling the clinics to operate efficiently and professionally. The roles require a strong commitment to excellent customer service, patient-centred care, discretion, and attention to detail.

These roles operate Monday to Friday only, offering a stable schedule with no weekend work.

Key accountabilities include (not limited to):

• Provide high-quality administrative support and liaise with patients in person and over the phone
  
• Manage patient appointments and coordinate clinician schedules
  
• Ensure patients are billed accurately and in a timely manner
  
• Process Medicare, health fund and EFTPOS transactions
  
• Update and maintain confidentiality of patient records
  
• Communicate, liaise and coordinate duties with other administrative and reception staff across MQ Health and affiliated clinics
  
• Reconcile end-of-day cash/EFTPOS and undertake associated banking tasks

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

• Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in a similar medical receptionist/administration role
  
• Experience in a specialist medical practice, allied health clinic or hospital setting highly desirable
  
• Strong computer literacy and confidence using medical software systems (experience with Genie is advantageous but not essential)
  
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build rapport and empathise with patients and families
  
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach
  
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing tasks
  
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
